It can be easy to read through the Gospels and laugh at some of the silly things Jesus’ first disciples said and did. They doubted the power of God even though they were eyewitnesses to Jesus’ miracles. They argued back and forth about which of them was the greatest when they stood in the presence of the Greatest One. We think, “How weak they were, and how vain!”, — and they were — but we forget that we are just as weak, and just as vain. In this sermon, Pastor Josh reminds us that Jesus’ correction of his first followers remains just as relevant now as it was then, and he shows us how our Saviour’s correction applies to believers living in the 21st century.
